Fire Station Tours
The fire station belongs to you, the citizens of Montgomery. Every week we have groups coming through the safety center to tour the police and fire departments. Every day we have parents and children stopping to “inspect” their favorite fire truck. Firefighters don’t spend their days polishing the trucks and waiting for a fire.
We are involved with many safety and preventative programs such as maintenance of fire hydrants, testing and inspecting fire and medical equipment, and training. Often, training involves pulling hose and flowing water, cutting up cars and other rescue evolutions. These activities are done at various locations around the community. Although there isn’t a schedule posted, a call to the shift officer will provide you information if any training is scheduled that day. If we are out working with the apparatus at the safety center, you are invited to stop and watch and ask questions. Please realize that if you have children with you that it is your responsibility to watch them and control them.
